Blizzard Academy Trainers


 

Tommy Wheeldon Sr. is the Director of Soccer for Calgary Blizzard Soccer Club.  He is a UEFA “A” Licensed coach and has played for Everton, Torquay United and for the England U18 Team.  He has coached for Swindon Town FC, Exeter City and was Head Coach for the Calgary Storm.  He was also the Everton Scout for the SW Region.  He was the assistant coach for the Foothills U18 Boys in 2004 when they won the Bronze at the Canadian Nationals and currently works with MVP Soccer.

John Clubb holds his UEFA B License and was at North Riding County FA as a Certified Coach Educator to “coach the coaches”.  He is also an accredited Sports Psychologist.  He as worked at Middlesborough FC in their coach development program leading 50 staff.  He has also been the Director of the Girls’ Centre of Excellence at Middlesborough FC.  He has worked at the Hartlepool United Boys’ Centre of Excellence for U18.  He has been on the Advisory Panel for the Soccability Club at Middlesborough and worked with Disability Soccer for the FA in London.

Judith Kitson holds her UEFA B part 1 and is finishing part 2.  She has played at the highest level in England, and has battled midfield against Hope Powell, who is now the current England Women’s coach.  She has coached Representative teams for schools and worked for Exeter and Swindon Town Primary Representative team.  To her credit, 3 of her past students now have professional contracts.

Phil Malone holds the UEFA Pre-B License.  He played for York City FC and Middlesborough FC.   He has been working with MVP Soccer for the past 3 years as the Keeper Academy Director.  The “Phil Malone Goal Keeper Academy” trains approximately 70% of the Division I keepers in Calgary.

 

Alan Rickwood holds the UEFA B and the National Canadian B.  He has been with the Calgary Blizzard Soccer Club for the past 5 years.  He was the Technical Director from 2002-2004 and became the General Manager in 2004.
