Club Licenses

A Club Built to the Highest Standards

Not all soccer clubs are built the same. Calgary Blizzard holds two of the most significant club designations in Canadian soccer – credentials that place us among a very small group of organizations in this country operating at both the elite youth and professional levels.

Canada Soccer National Youth Club Licence

The National Youth Club Licence is Canada Soccer's highest amateur club designation – recognizing organizations that demonstrate the highest standards of governance, administration, infrastructure, and technical programming. Earning it means Blizzard has been independently evaluated against a national framework that aligns all the way through CONCACAF and FIFA. Only a handful of clubs across Canada hold it.

For families, this translates directly: every program we deliver – from our youngest Roots players to our most competitive tiers – is built on a foundation that Canada Soccer has verified as best-in-class.

Canada Soccer National 2 Licence

The National 2 Licence recognizes clubs that have made an enhanced commitment across governance, administration, facilities, and technical programming at the highest levels of the game. Holders of this licence are operating in semi-professional and professional capacities, competing in Canadian National Championships, and participating in CONCACAF and FIFA events.

This is not a youth development credential – it's a professional one. And it sits at the heart of what makes Blizzard different: we aren't just a club that talks about a pathway to the highest levels of the game. We're a club that operates at those levels.

Together, these two licences tell one story: when your child joins Blizzard, they're entering a club built from the grassroots up with professional standards, professional accountability, and a genuine connection to the top of the Canadian soccer pyramid. The same organizational values that govern our National 2 program shape how we run our U4 Roots sessions. That consistency – from first kick to elite competition – is what sets Blizzard apart.
