Volunteers

Blizzard SC is built on community. Our club relies on parents and family members who step forward with their time and energy so we can continue delivering a high-quality soccer experience at a reasonable cost.

There are many ways to get involved – and most roles do not require technical soccer knowledge.

Volunteer Deposit

At registration, each family submits a $100 volunteer deposit. Should your family complete an approved volunteer role, the deposit will be credited back to your player’s PowerUp account during the season. Only positions that are officially recognized by the Club qualify for this credit.

Club Volunteer Opportunities

Throughout the season, Blizzard will post volunteer opportunities on our website, including role descriptions, time commitments, and sign-up instructions.

To qualify for your volunteer credit the role must be issued by the Club and a minimum of five (5) hours must be completed. If you cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice, or if you do not attend your scheduled shift, you will not receive volunteer credit.

While we work hard to offer a variety of opportunities, we cannot guarantee that preferred roles or time slots will be available.

Team Volunteer Opportunities

In addition to club-wide roles, each team relies on parent volunteers to support team operations. However, not all team contributions qualify for the volunteer deposit credit. The following team roles quality for the volunteer deposit refund:

  • Head Coach – Assume overall coaching responsibilities for the team.

  • Assistant Coach – Support the head coach with training sessions and match duties.

  • Team Manager – Assist the coach with administrative coordination, communication, and organizing team volunteers.

  • Team Treasurer – Manage team finances related to tournaments, travel, and additional activities.

  • Tournament/Fundraising Coordinator – Coordinate fundraising initiatives and manage tournament logistics, including registrations and travel planning.

Although indispensable, team support roles such as field marshal, running lines, putting up nets, and bench support are part of general team participation and do not qualify for the volunteer deposit refund.
