The Orange Way

Founded in 1967, The Calgary Blizzard Soccer Club began with Marino Sedran and Gordon Hawkins taking a team of 11 and 12-year-old Calgary boys to Expo 67 in Montreal. Upon their return, they adopted the name of a defunct Canadian Junior Football team, the “North Hill Blizzards,” and remodeled the team around six original players. They played in a league against Northwest Calgary teams, winning the National Championships three times and the title in 1971.
