Player Financial Support

Every kid deserves a place on the pitch. Since 1967, Blizzard has been built on one belief: the game belongs to everyone. That’s why we work with community partners and government programs to help families cover the cost of registration, so more players can play #theoranageway.

If money is the thing standing between your child and the game, talk to us. We’ll help you find a way.

How we help

  • KidSport Calgary & Area

    • KidSport provides grants toward sport registration fees for kids 18 and under from families facing financial barriers. Register your player with Blizzard first, let us know you’re applying, then submit your application to KidSport. Approved grants are paid directly to the club. KidSport can also connect families with free equipment through its sports bank.

  • Canadian Tire Jumpstart

    • Jumpstart’s Individual Child Grants help families with kids aged 4 to 18 cover the cost of sport. Funding availability varies by community, so log in to your Jumpstart account to check what’s open before you apply.

  • Government support

    • The Government of Alberta’s Every Kid Can Play program helps keep sport affordable for Alberta families, and that funding flows through KidSport. One application covers both. Already approved for the City of Calgary’s Fair Entry program? That approval can help show eligibility for KidSport.

  • Payment plans

    • Registration doesn’t have to land all at once. Blizzard offers payment plans that split fees into instalments across the season.

Getting started

  1. Register your player. Secure their spot first. Most grant programs require an active registration before you apply.

  2. Reach out to us. Email us and tell us you need support. We’ll walk you through the options that fit your family.

  3. Apply and play. We’ll help with the paperwork and coordinate directly with our partners so your player can focus on the game.

Every conversation is handled privately and is kept confidential within the CBSC administrative team.
