U7-U9: Roots

U7–U9 | Growing the Foundation

As players grow, sessions introduce more soccer-specific skills through small-sided games and game-like activities that maximize ball contact and decision-making opportunities. Players build confidence in 1v1 situations, improve their technical ability, and develop positive habits both in and out of possession. The focus remains on enjoyment while encouraging creativity, problem-solving, and individual development within a supportive environment.

Players are rostered to teams for the season and assigned a CMSA and CSA trained volunteer coach. While friend requests may be submitted during registration, they cannot be guaranteed. In accordance with Canada Soccer guidelines, we strive to create balanced teams to provide a positive and equitable experience for all players.

Training sessions are delivered by our CSA licensed Blizzard staff coaches and trained team coaches.

U7–U9 | Development Pathways

Our U7–U9 program offers two development streams to ensure every player trains and plays in the environment that best supports their growth, confidence, and enjoyment of the game. Both pathways provide player-centred, age-appropriate learning environments that emphasize individual development, learning through play, and fostering a lifelong love of soccer.

Dev+ CMSA League

For players ready for a greater challenge and commitment, Dev+ offers increased training and weekly competition through the CMSA league against external clubs. With additional weekly training, players accelerate their technical development, game understanding, decision-making, and confidence in a supportive, age-appropriate environment.
